The world’s best-dressed men: Street style at Milan’s Menswear Fashion Week AW23

While a deep freeze grips London, Milan has seen brisk but sunbathed evenings for its menswear fashion week, Pitti Immagine Uomo.

Golden-hour shots from photographer Valentina Valdinoci on the ground capture the world’s most dapper boys in their new season fineries.

As is to be expected, sleek tailoring led the most striking looks. From Gucci’s 70s-style, wide-lapelled suits, as spotted on trainspotter Francis Bourgeois, to tan overcoats sported by male model Richard Biedul, the shots make a convincing case that the suit is far from dead.

More playful styles included Gucci x Adidas collaboration sportswear, offering shots of green and navy blues, kilts layered over tracksuit bottoms, and one particularly special nude-mesh turtleneck, with magenta floral embroidery – Pantone’s colour of 2023.

Twinning for the street-style photographers is proving a hit this year, too. It comes after Alessandro Michele’s final Gucci runway was shown on 68 identical twins last September, and was mimicked on the streets in both totally matching looks, or complementary aesthetics, like model brothers Scott and Brett Staniland.

Milan’s fashion week comes to a close today, but the international jetset will be making its way to Paris, where the next leg of men’s fashion month begins tomorrow, January 17. Expect plenty more new year wardrobe inspiration to come.
