The Walrus Talks Nature

Exploring how nature and Canada’s trails can play a pivotal role in bolstering the environment, economy, and health of all Canadians

From coast to coast to coast, Canada is home to some of the world’s most incredible and well-known natural landscapes. And while numerous studies have proven the tangible benefits that being outdoors in nature can have for one’s health, Canadians need to be able to access the many trails, parks, mountains, and coastlines across this great nation to enjoy them.

At The Walrus Talks Nature, leaders from Canada’s climate, business, and nonprofit sectors will come together to discuss the value of access to nature, including the trails that act as a gateway to Canada’s diverse landscapes. The speakers will discuss how access to nature contributes to human health and well-being, environmental protection, and economic growth. The discussion will be wide-ranging since nature affects us all: How accessible are Canada’s natural environments? How can the outdoors become safer spaces for people of colour? What infrastructure or policies shape nature and our access to it?

Join us, in Toronto or online, to discover the joys of nature and how we can access all it has to offer.
