As well as seeing a whole host of new hopefuls aim to get the Tom and his colleagues hitting the red button, people who tuned into watch the programme on Saturday night got more than they bargained for, with many left wiping away tears at Tom's performance.
As often happens during The Voice audition stages, with the coaches given a chance to show off their musical pedigree, Tom got a chance to seize the spotlight when he was handed a mic in the studio. And what came next was an emotionally charged moment that will be remembered for a long time.
