With the Minnesota Vikings getting out to a 4-0 start in the 2024 NFL season, quarterback Sam Darnold is arguably the most talked about player right now. And it’s for good reason. The former top-five draft pick didn’t pan out with the New York Jets, and his stint with the Carolina Panthers wasn’t anything to be remembered. When he signed with the Vikings on a one-year deal, fans thought it would be short-lived with J.J. McCarthy on the roster.
But after four games, Darnold has thrown for 932 yards, 11 scores, and three interceptions. Many media members say Darnold is the early MVP favorite. But one NFL voice says the Vikings do have an MVP favorite, but it’s not Darnold.
Dan Orlovsky called Justin Jefferson the MVP during a segment on NFL Live. The way Jefferson runs routes, catches difficult passes, and everything else he can do — Orlovsky believes he is what is making the Minnesota train roll. Through four weeks, Jefferson is fifth in the NFL with receiving 358 yards.
