The Minnesota Vikings were set to control their own playoff fate until a 33-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers derailed it on Sunday night. They still have the ability to make the postseason but need a significant amount of help to do so.
Not only do the Vikings need to beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon, but they need the following to happen as well:
- Green Bay Packers loss vs. Chicago Bears
- Seattle Seahawks loss vs. Arizona Cardinals
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss vs. Carolina Panthers or New Orleans Saints loss vs. Atlanta Falcons
That’s a significantly difficult ask to get the Vikings into the playoffs, but it’s not impossible. The Cardinals are coming off of a huge road win against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday, the Bears are playing their best football of the season, and the NFC South is wild and anything could happen.
The Vikings need to enter Ford Field ready to battle against the Lions if they want to keep their hopes alive.
