The sale closed on August 28, 2026, according to Realtor.com. The 1903-built property had gone through several changes in its asking price before the sale.
Joy Behar’s Hamptons Home Sells for $5.65 Million
Behar first listed the property for $10.95 million on November 19, 2024. The listing was removed on December 3, 2024, according to the property's recorded listing history.
The home returned to the market on March 17, 2025, with an asking price of $8.995 million. The price was reduced to $7.995 million in June 2025, followed by another reduction to $6.95 million in October. On December 31, 2025, the asking price was lowered to $5.95 million.
On March 21, 2026, the asking price was increased to $6.995 million. The property sold for $5.65 million on August 28, 2026.
Why Joy Behar’s Asking Price Was Increased
The increase came after the property had reached its $5.95 million asking price.
Behar’s listing agents, Ed Gaetjens and John Wines of Saunders & Associates, told Realtor.com that a nearby home had sold for $11.25 million. They said the sale was one of the factors behind their decision to increase the asking price.
The agents also worked with multiple architects to develop plans for potential renovations. They priced the proposed updates and secured the necessary planning permissions, but no construction was carried out as part of that process.

The property was built in 1903 and has 4,500 square feet of living space, four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It sits on a 0.63-acre corner lot, according to Realtor.com.

The primary bedroom has a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a spa bathroom. Another bedroom is en suite, while two additional bedrooms share a bathroom.
The property also includes a heated gunite pool and a separate guesthouse. The guesthouse has a living room with a fireplace, a full kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and a loft space.
Joy Behar Bought the Sag Harbor Home for $4.75 Million
Behar purchased the property in 2016 for $4.75 million. The recorded property history shows the purchase took place on August 23, 2016.
The $5.65 million sale price was $900,000 higher than the $4.75 million purchase price reported by Realtor.com.
Joy Behar’s Connection to the Hamptons
Behar has previously spoken about her connection to the Hamptons. In a 2021 interview with Hedges, she said she first visited the area in the 1960s, when she rented a home in Hampton Bays with her sorority sisters.
