'The Traitors' Season 3: Everything We Know

Alan cumming poses with his arms outstretched in front of an empty round table, in 'the traitors' season 2.

Thanks to host Alan Cumming's one-liners and its many twists, Peacock's treacherous reality TV series The Traitors has become an appointment-watch phenomenon. The Mafia-evoking competition gathers dozens of reality stars against each other for a chance at a $250,000 prize pot—awarded to the innocent Faithfuls or the backstabbing Traitors.

Season 2, which aired in early 2024, saw lifelong friendships tested, rivalries between Bravo-lebrities and competition series champs (from Survivor, Big Brother, and The Challenge) form, and enduring memes born. Now that all has been revealed, the question on every fan's mind is when the Round Table will open again. Read on for everything we know about The Traitors season 3 so far.

Has 'The Traitors' been renewed for season 3?

Yes! Host Alan Cumming announced the happy news at the end of the season 2 reunion on March 8, assuring viewers that Peacock's reality hit would continue for "another season of famous faces, whispered secrets, and heart-stopping betrayals is on the horizon.” Add on another rotation of fabulous ensembles for the intrepid host.

When will 'The Traitors' season 3 come out?

The Traitors season 3 will premiere on January 9, 2025. Cumming himself announced the premiere date during his appearance on Today on October 31. While he couldn't reveal much about the upcoming season, he did tease that this season will be more intense than ever.

"I’ll just say one word: brutal," said Cumming. He also alluded to a "fight" that nearly broke out during one round table, adding that fans can expect a lot of "peaks and troughs."

He added, "It's a lot."

Peacock has yet to confirm how many episodes will launch on the premiere date. With season 2, however, the first three installments aired at the start, followed by the rest dropping weekly. It seems likely that the show will follow a similar schedule this time around as well.

Until January, feel free to host a murder-mystery party, book a quick Scotland getaway, or check out shows similar to The Traitors if you need some devious drama.

Is there a trailer for 'The Traitors' season 3?

With less than two months left until the castle opens, the first sneak peek of The Traitors season 3 is here. On November 22, 2024, Peacock released all of season 3's cast portraits as well as a "Meet the Competition" teaser that gives each of the cast, and host Alan Cumming's wardrobe, moments to shine.

The clip begins with Cumming quoting Shakespeare's famed Scottish play Macbeth—"By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.”—before we see flashes of the upcoming competitions, including an army of clowns, a snake wrapped around a contestant's hand, and literal fireballs. As Cumming promises, "You ain't seen nothing yet."

Who will be in the cast of 'The Traitors' season 3?

One plus to 2024 going by at lightning speed: We're getting closer to The Traitors' return. On June 5, Cumming announced the highly-anticipated cast of reality TV personalities for season 3. Among the cast highlights: Selling Sunset hero Chrishell Stause, Big Brother alum Danielle Reyes and Britney Haynes, Real Housewives of New York (and soon-to-be Round Table) standout Dorinda Medley, Survivor super-alum Rob Mariano, and Mr. Scandoval himself, Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules. And if the reality stars weren't enough, there's also a nepo sibling, a Mountbatten, and Britney Spears' ex-husband Sam Asghari. Okay, let's see how this goes.

See the full cast and official announcement below:

  • Bob Harper (The Biggest Loser)
  • Bob the Drag Queen (RuPaul’s Drag Race)
  • Britney Haynes (Big Brother)
  • Carolyn Wiger (Survivor)
  • Chanel Ayan (The Real Housewives of Dubai)
  • Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset)
  • Ciara Miller (Summer House)
  • Danielle Reyes (Big Brother)
  • Dolores Catania (The Real Housewives of New Jersey)
  • Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives of New York City)
  • Dylan Efron (Zac Efron's brother)
  • Gabby Windey (The Bachelorette)
  • Jeremy Collins (Survivor)
  • Lord Ivar Mountbatten (British royal family)
  • Nikki Garcia (professional wrestler)
  • Rob Mariano (Survivor and Deal or No Deal Island)
  • Robyn Dixon (The Real Housewives of Potomac)
  • Sam Asghari (Britney Spears' ex-husband)
  • Tom Sandoval (Vanderpump Rules)
  • Tony Vlachos (Survivor)
  • Wells Adams (Bachelor in Paradise)

In a March interview with Variety, executive producer Mike Cotton hinted that the cast chemistry will be "really important" for season 3.

"I liked the fact that [the season 2 cast] were from different walks of life, so I think we want to do the same this time around. We are getting some people approach us, but also we want to think outside the box," he told the outlet. "The good thing about The Traitors is that I think we surprise people with some slightly different casting. I don’t think anyone would have expected John Bercow from the U.K. to be on season 2, but actually, he added his own thing to it. I think we have to try and do the same in season 3."

However, the series likely won't lean on the same casting surprise they used for season 2 when season 1 contestant and Below Deck star Kate Chastain returned for a second round. When asked whether another former contestant could return for season 3, he told the outlet, "There’s a chance. I will say I also kind of think we did that with Kate. We brought Kate back, let’s try something new. I’d love to surprise people in a different way with a different casting twist of some sort."
