The solid Cardiff City player ratings as star grows in new position but James Collins misses a sitter

Alex Smithies 7

Couldn't do a great deal about the goal, a header from close range, and was good with his hands and feet for the most part.

Perry Ng 7 (star man)

Produced some moments of true quality with the ball at his feet, such an assured presence and growing in the new position.

Aden Flint 5

Let Aleksandar Mitrovic free at the back post for the goal, a big and costly error. Shame because he handled him well apart from that. Got away with a handball in the box.

Mark McGuinness 6

A decent enough showing from the centre back. Had a couple of hairy moments but generally did well defending his box.

Cody Drameh 7

A constant outlet for City down the right-hand side. Had to be more defensively aware against Fulham's threats, though.

Joe Ralls 7

Made a difference coming back into the side, favouring looking forward rather than going back when the ball came his way.

Will Vaulks 7

Got stuck into the midfield battle, giving as good as he got. Did the defensive side of things well but got booked for his troubles.

Tommy Doyle 7

Showed his consistency yet again, always looking to create or latch on to the end of something. Struck one free-kick nicely which rippled the top of the net.

Alfie Doughty 7

Great to see him back out there and he impressed. Travelled well with the ball at his feet and was largely sound defensively, too.

Rubin Colwill 6

Showed some neat touches on his return to the side, but struggled pressing at the front at times.

James Collins 5

Missed an absolute sitter in the first half, hitting a one-on-one straight at Marek Rodak. Ran his socks off, though.

Subs

Isaak Davies (on for Colwill 57) 6 - Injected a bit of pace into the forward line but only had one real chance, which he hit at the keeper.

Joel Bagan (on for Doughty 67) 6 - A nice outing for the left back. Almost netted the equaliser with a header late on.

Ryan Wintle (on for Vaulks 76) 6 - Another who had a positive cameo. Whipped in a lovely cross for Bagan's chance.
