India’s wedding economy is moving beyond the traditional business of arranging ceremonies. As celebrations become larger, more personalised and spread across multiple days and destinations, a new class of entrepreneurs is emerging around them, from wedding designers and experience curators to specialist photographers, production teams, hospitality experts and creative consultants.
The shift is significant because it is turning weddings into complex projects that require expertise across several industries. India’s wedding market has been estimated at around $130 billion, while industry research submitted in a 2025 regulatory filing put annual wedding spending at ₹8 lakh crore to ₹16 lakh crore, underlining the scale of consumption linked to marriages.
