The world is healing. In huge news for reality TV fans and gay men across the country, BINGE has announced that The Real Housewives of Melbourne is finally making a comeback.
The exciting news was unveiled at the Foxtel Media Upfronts on Thursday, with the one and only Gina Liano confirmed to be returning to the show.
“It’s been a while between drinks, but some things are worth waiting for. I am delighted to be returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne,” she said alongside the announcement.
“I’ve missed the glamour, the fabulous women and, of course, the drama. I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new ones and getting back to what we do best – having a good time, looking fabulous and causing a little trouble along the way.”
PEDESTRIAN.TV first reported in April that the iconic franchise would be making a return following the cancellation of The Real Housewives of Sydney last year.

For the uninitiated, The Real Housewives of Melbourne launched in 2014 and quickly became one of Australia’s most iconic reality shows. It’s also the most-watched reality show in Foxtel’s history, which is no surprise considering how entertaining and re-watchable it is.
The show was renewed for four seasons between 2014 and 2018 and made a brief return in 2021 with only three original cast members, not including Gina.
Production on season six is set to begin in 2027, and further cast announcements will be revealed in the coming months. It’s already been teased that the new season will “deliver a high-octane, culturally relevant and unapologetically entertaining new chapter” that will not only reconnect with the show’s loyal fanbase, but also introduce the series to a new generation.
“The speculation can finally end – we’re delivering what fans have been asking for, with Gina Liano returning to The Real Housewives of Melbourne,” Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan, said.
“And while Gina’s return is just the beginning, we’ve got plenty more fabulous new and returning faces still to reveal. The Housewives are back, Melbourne, and we can’t wait to see what unfolds.”

Who else will appear on The Real Housewives of Melbourne reboot?
Confirmation that the new season will feature a mix of familiar and fresh faces makes it clear that we won’t see every former Housewife returning to the show in a full-time capacity, so who could be making the cut?
Well, the news comes just a few days after Gina reunited with her former co-stars Jackie Gillies and Lydia Schiavello, who posted a series of snaps on Instagram alongside the caption, “And then there were three”.
Gina told PEDESTRIAN.TV at BINGE’s event on Thursday that she had no idea what the cryptic caption meant, but if she had it her way, Jackie and Lydia would be joining her on the new season.
“I don’t have any say in the cast. I suggest, like if I want to bring a friend in, then, you know, they’ll always take that into consideration. But Jackie and Lydia would be perfect,” she said.
Meanwhile, fan favourite Gamble Breaux recently had a memorable appearance on The Traitors Australia, which hopefully served as a re-introduction to the Australian public before coming back to the franchise that first made her famous.

Sources told P.TV in May that Gina was the only OG Housewife confidently expected to return at the time, with producers interested in finding fresh Melbourne socialites and untapped friendship groups rather than rebuilding the series around its former stars.
The Age also reported that the show was casting “boss babes” for its upcoming sixth season, with Runway Room Cosmetics CEO and Brendan Fevola‘s wife, Alex Fevola, in the mix. Other potential cast members include former Yummy Mummies star Lorinska Merrington, beauty entrepreneur Victoria Curtis, and Booby Tape founders Bianca and Bridgett Roccisano.
We’ll have to wait and see who else is added to the cast, but at least we know we’ll be in safe hands with Gina involved. The queen is back!
