The Rangers hero who sold Celtic ace on loan move to the 'wrong side' of Glasgow

Shim Mheuka has revealed Mikey Moore helped him decide to join Celtic.

The teenage striker, who joined on loan from Chelsea last week, spoke to his England Under-19 teammate before making the move north.

Moore, who was on loan at Rangers last season, gave a glowing recommendation about life in Glasgow.

However, Mheuka said his decision was based on what Celtic could offer him. The 18-year-old said: "I've been part of the England squad with Mikey.

"I watched his games from last year. He's a good friend of mine, so I spoke to him before I came here, and he told me it's a beautiful city and I'd really enjoy it.

"It's more about what's best for me than what Mikey has done and what was the best next step in my development.

"But Mikey is a good friend and did really well."

Mheuka then joked about the pair's Glasgow divide after choosing Celtic over Rangers.

He added: "He told me I was on the wrong side of Glasgow but I told him, no, I'm on the right side of the city."
