England's Lionesses are on the cusp of making history after storming to the Euro 2022 final at Wembley this weekend. A record-breaking crowd of lucky spectators will be at Wembley as the host nation takes on Germany - with the chance to finally 'bring football home'.
It comes just a year after penalty heartache for the men's team against Italy in Euro 2020, while it's the first time the women's team has played in a final since Euro 2009. But if you weren't able to secure a seat at Wembley for the big game on Sunday (July 31), you could cheer the Lionesses on while enjoying a free drink at one of more than 30 Greene King pubs across Greater Manchester instead.
Faye Nixon, marketing manager for Greene King Sport, said: “The Women’s Euros has been nothing short of fantastic. The team have broken so many records and we’re all thrilled they’ve made it to the final.

“Whatever happens on Sunday, it’s important we don’t just see this as a one-off moment for women’s sport. We need to do everything we can to continue the buzz that has followed this tournament and inspire the next generation of women in sport.”
To claim the free drink, customers must download the Greene King Season Ticket app and register their account no later than 12pm on Sunday. At 3pm, the free drink will be added to each registered customer’s basket within the app, allowing users to choose one of the following drinks for free:
- Ice Breaker Pale Ale (bottle/pint)
- Coca-Cola/Zero Sugar (bottle/draught)
- Heineken 0.0% (bottle)
- Heineken 5% 330ml (bottle)
- Bulmers (bottle)
- Heineken 5% (draught)
- Foster's (draught)
- John Smith's Extra Smooth (draught)
- Strongbow (draught)
- Strongbow Dark Fruit (draught)
- Amstel (draught)
The app is available to download for free on the Apple store here or the Google store here. Guests will be able to enjoy their free drink until midnight, while Season Ticket users will also benefit from 10% off all purchases made via the app.
Greene King is also donating 10p from every drink sold through the Season Ticket app during the final to Women in Sport, a charity which provides impactful solutions to tackling gender inequality in sport. Wendy Hawk, head of communications and engagement at Women in Sport, added: “The lionesses are making history and change is happening both at the elite and the grassroots.
"We are grateful that Greene King are supporting this success in their pubs and their communities right across the UK. Together we can inspire a generation and ensure the women’s Euros creates a legacy for the future.”
