The pretty Welsh village just an hour from Bristol with castle and 'best pub'

Bristol is blessed with plenty of green spaces on its doorstep, from the sprawling estate at Ashton Court to the expansive Somerset countryside.

Its proximity so close to the Severn bridges, however, makes the stunning beaches and landscapes in South Wales an easy alternative for those who want to venture further afield.

While Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons are among the busier destinations for Bristol tourists, lesser-known beauty spots can deliver a day out that's just as enjoyable.
