The PixelMob not only backs up photos on the move without a laptop – it also culls photos, doubles as a portable monitor, and even works with camera tethering

The UnifyDrive PixelMob sits on a desk with a laptop, camera, and SD cards.

A number of portable hard drives have aimed to offer creators the ability to back up photos and videos on site, but PixelMob is a new portable device that doesn’t just back up photos and videos. PixelMob is a hard drive with a built-in screen that doubles as a portable HDMI monitor, automates processes like HDR and focus stacking, and even culls and color grades photos on site.

The UnifyDrive PixelMob, unveiled over the weekend at the NAB Show, is at its core a NVMe SSD storage drive with a built-in touchscreen and memory card slots. That combination allows creators to create backup files on-site.
