The Oklahoma City Thunder are here to stay

The Oklahoma City Thunder are emerging as a surprise contender in the NBA this season behind their young core led by MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

To make things even spicier, the Thunder are loaded with draft assets to add to their roster should they feel any aspect of the team is lacking.

With SGA playing like one of the best players in the league, big man Chet Holmgren surprising everyone in his official rookie season (having sat out 2022-23 with an injury), Josh Giddey and Jalen Williams keeping opposing defenses honest with a great supporting cast behind them, Oklahoma City suddenly finds themselves as one of the West’s best teams.

Add in the fact that OKC has beaten the Denver Nuggets (two times), Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves and LA Clippers, it’s hard to deny this team could very well make a deep playoff run — perhaps even to the 2024 NBA Finals.

The hosts of the “Synthetic Sports” podcast took a deep dive into the over-achieving OKC Thunder; check it out above!
