A South Shields family business is celebrating its 70th anniversary by cooking up a special pie inspired by a northern delicacy.
Dicksons, the chain famed for its saveloy dips, is celebrating its milestone birthday on June 18. Founded in 1953 by Michael Irwin and his wife Helen Dickson, the firm now has more than 30 stores across Tyne and Wear.
Today is led by the couple's son Michael Dickson who wanted to add a touch of flavour to the anniversary celebrations by creating a limited-edition pie.
