Passed away on the 25th January 2023 at University Hospital of Wales, aged 86 years. Loving father to Richard and Helen. John will be missed by all who knew him. Geoffrey Neil Davies
It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Geoffrey Neil Davies, son of Leslie and Phyllis, on February 2nd 2023. He leaves behind his beloved wife Denise. Much loved father of Andrew, Benjamin and Matthew, and daughters-in-law Sophie and Nicola. He will be fondly remembered by his seven adored-grandchildren. Geoff was cherished by his twin sister Vicki and younger brother Lloyd. He was a greatly admired brother-in-law to Clive and Irene, and uncle to James and his wife Laura. Geoff will be missed by all who knew him, and will be remembered as the Gentleman he was. The funeral service will be held at Llandaff Cathedral on March the 9th at 11:30am, followed by a Private Cremation at Thornhill Crematorium in the Wenallt Chapel at 12:30pm. Sadly, but peacefully, John passed away on 8th February, aged 91 years. Devoted husband to Ann. Treasured father of Kirstie, James and wife Jill, Hannah, and Joe and wife Leah. Cherished grandfather of Paige, Georgia, Oliver, Emily, Luisa, Elin, Frank, Eve, Eli, Izzy and Asher. John will be sadly missed by many. Alma Ferrari
After a long and full life our mother, Alma Ferrari, quietly passed away on 24th January 2023. She was very much loved by family and friends and will be missed terribly. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honour at St Peter's Church, Roath on Thursday 9th March at 10:00am. Alma was born on 11th February 1932 in Treherbert and rather uniquely spent her childhood years in both South Wales and the North Italian countryside due to the vagaries of the Second World War. She married our father, Giuseppe Ferrari, in 1956 and the union was blessed with four children. Our father Giuseppe preceded her in death on 26th June 1984. Alma ran a successful business with her husband for thirty years, as a result of which she became a familiar and popular individual in the local community. Alma's influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her best. Her exemplary life will forever be cherished in the lives of her surviving children Rodolfo, Fausto, Vittoria and Bianca and her grandchildren Rosalie, Adriana and Giuseppe.
Gareth Edward James Lock
With great sadness, we announce the death of Gareth Edward James Lock, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday 8th February 2023. Gareth was born on 6th September 1949. He was a family man who was proud of the achievements of his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband to Sheila, a loving father to Kevyn, Michael and Kathryn, and a proud grandparent to Tomos and Harri. In honour of Gareth a celebration service will be held on the 8th of March 2023 at 14:30 in St Isan's Church, Station Road, Llanishen, Cardiff, CF14 5AE. There will be a YouTube live stream/video of the celebration service, please contact the family for details. You are welcome to join the family at the Manor Parc, Thornhill Rd, CF14 9UA after the service. Gareth wished for his body to be donated for research at the Cardiff University School of Biosciences, where he is now resting. A cremation will be held at a later date. It is with great sadness that Alan Christopher Bruce Roberts, owner of A&T Waste Disposal, died unexpectedly on 28th November 2022. Beloved husband of Denise, cherished dad to Leanne, Heather and father-in-law to the late Dean Hawker; loved Gramp to Taylor, Lauren, Rhydell & Isaac, Great-grandfather to Harley and; much loved brother to Trevor, Gillian and their families. It is with great sadness the family of Mr Roger Edward John Harrison announce his passing on 11th February 2023, at the age of 87 years. Roger passed away peacefully at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home after a 6 month battle with an aggressive cancer which he fought with his usual courage & grace. Roger leaves loving wife Angela, son Mike, daughter in law Lucy & grandchildren Rhoslyn, Joshua, Georgi, Isobel & Teilo. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family, friends & colleagues. Roger did so many great things, achieved so much and worked so tirelessly for the Arthritis & Parkinsons charities. He was our hero a thousand times over, and we know he would be disappointed if we did not use this opportunity to thank all the amazing and wonderful devoted staff at Llandough Hospital, University Hospital of Wales & Bryn Ivor lodge Care Home who looked after him so selflessly. Conditions in both hospitals were often far from ideal - not enough space, so noisy, zero privacy & exhausted staff (uncomplaining, but clearly stretched to the max) - but everyone was just marvellous and dear Roger, bless him, spent his entire time thanking them & telling everyone he could, how amazing they were. As a family we too want to say how much we appreciate these wonderful people who so deserve to be paid a fair and decent wage - & have proper funding for the Health service they clearly love so much. It is with great sadness that Jean Scannell and family announce that Sidney James Scannell passed away on 20th January 2023, aged 89 years. Sid is survived by his childhood sweetheart Jean, whom he married in March 1956.
