The Most Expensive Cars in Forza Horizon 5, Ranked

In the vibrant, sprawling world of Forza Horizon 5’s Mexico, very few things can be bragged about like the size of your credit balance. Although the Auction House regularly sees rare seasonal cars traded for a maximum of 20 million credits, the Autoshow and Car Collection menus also often feature cars with eyewatering price tags.

These prices reflect a car’s real-world rarity and historical importance, putting specific vehicles into an elite, multi-million-dollar tier. Buying these machines is an extremely challenging task, as it requires a considerable investment of time and credit. While the cars we’re talking about may not be as rare as the Ferrari F8 Tributo, or god forbid, the McLaren 12C Coupé, they’re still might expensive. You’ll see this straight away from our first entry.

1. 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR

In Game Value: 143,000,000 Credits

Undoubtedly, the crown jewel of in-game car collecting is the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. This car sits at the top of the price chart with an astonishing 143 million credit valuation. This price tag is not just a random number; it mirrors the $143 million a 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé was sold for at auction in 2022, the most expensive car ever sold globally.

The 300 SLR came to Forza Horizon 5 as part of the series 11 “Rami’s Racing History” update, breaking the price record held by the Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe. You may wonder why a car that is not as fast as new modern cars is so expensive, and the reason for that lies purely in its prestige and scarcity.

To acquire this beautiful machine, you had to either pay its full price by buying directly from the Autoshow or the game offered it as a Festival Playlist reward from time to time. However, some lucky players “sniped” one at the Auction House for the 20 million credit cap, getting a 123 million discount.

2. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

In-Game Value: 50,000,000 Credits

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is known as a top-tier collector’s item, both in the real world and in Forza Horizon 5. This renowned Italian racer carries an in-game value of 50 million credits, being the second most expensive car in the game. In the real world, the 250 GTO is one of the most coveted vehicles ever, crossing over $50 million in price.

Importantly, the 250 GTO in Forza Horizon 5 is one of the rarest Barn Find vehicles, meaning it can not be purchased directly from the Autoshow. To get this car, you have to locate its barn, complete the restoration process, and then add it to your garage.

The 50 million credit price serves as its stated value in the Car Collection menu, spotlighting its elite status among the game’s sacred treasures. Though you can not buy or sell this car, its presence in the car showcases a 50 million credit boost to their overall collection value.

3. 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe

In-Game Value: 30,000,000 Credits

For many years, the closed-cockpit 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe was at the peak of the Autoshow, being the single most expensive purchasable car in Forza Horizon 5. It had an official price of 30 million credits, and it was respected for both its cost and racing heritage.

The vehicle was Caroll Shelby’s reply to Ferrari’s authority in GT racing, designed to compete with the 250 GTO at Le Mans. It has an aerodynamic wedge-shaped body and a high-octane engine, offering a difficult yet rewarding driving experience.

While it can be purchased for 30 million credits, experienced players can acquire it as an Accolade reward for achieving set milestones in the game.

4. 1958 Aston Martin DBR1

In-Game Value: 22,500,000 Credits

The Aston Martine DBR1 is an iconic British racing car known especially for its high endurance and winning the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its virtual version in Forza Horizon 5 continues its exclusivity, standing at a hefty price of 22.5 million credits from the Autoshow.

Just like the in-game price tag, one model was sold for $22.5 million in 2017, making it one of the most desired cars in automotive history. In Forza Horizon 5, driving this car piloted by legends like Sir Stirling is a timeless experience, due to its sublime handling and a powerful engine.

Similar to most of the vehicles, the DBR1 is commonly available in the Auction House for less than its Autoshow value. However, if you want this car in your collection immediately, it is mandatory to pay the full price.

5. 1956 Jaguar D-Type

In-Game Value: 22,000,000 Credits

Finishing up the top five list is another renowned British racing machine: the 1956 Jaguar D-Type. Sitting just slightly below the Aston Martine DBR1, the D-Type has a price tag of 22 million credits. Justifying this high price is its legendary heritage, including three back-to-back Le Mans victories in the 1950s.

The design of the D-type is one of its own, having a long nose, sweeping lines, and an aerodynamic headrest, originally being an air brake. The car is mostly favored by collectors and many racing enthusiasts who admire its handling and glorious engine, offering a ferocious experience on the roads of Mexico.
