The energy crisis and the cost of heating homes have been a worry for many people, as prices continued to skyrocket. Money expert Martin Lewis, who presents his own show The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live on ITV1, had good news as he believes that energy prices will not rise in April.
Hosting an energy special of The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live, which saw Secretary of State for Energy Grant Shapps appearing on the show, Martin was forced to give his own answer about if energy prices would increase as scheduled next month by 20%, when Mr Shapps tactfully dodged the question.
Martin said: "So let me give you the answer. On Thursday the energy companies have to tell the pre-payment meter companies what their April prices are going to be and they have not increased the prices in April. I also have other sources that tell me prices are not going up and since I did that The Times have reported sources in Government saying prices are not going up and the BBC have reported sources in Government saying prices are not going up. I would say, my certainty that prices are not going up in April is 99 percent. Which means we will continue to stay roughly where we are and then prices will drop from July."

Mr Shapps was asked the same question about energy prices going up first and dodged the question, by saying the answer would be revealed in the Chancellor's budget next week. He first spoke about the help the Government had given to help people with their energy bills during winter, before saying: "I am afraid the answer is tomorrow week, Wednesday, you'll get the budget and you will get the answer".
