Married at First Sight is the show where total strangers get married, without ever meeting each other before. For some the relationships and marriages go well, while other marriages get off to a tricky start.
This was the case for mental health care assistant Thomas. He was paired with digital designer Adrian by the love experts Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson, and Charlene Douglas, however, he was not impressed with his match.
Thomas requested "tall, dark and handsome" and after walking down the aisle to see that Adrian was blonde, he was not best pleased. He told the cameras: "He is blonde. I've never dated someone who was blonde."

He went on to say: "I didn't anticipate I would be marrying Clare Balding...he is not my type." Later during the reception, he told Adrian that he had "tall, dark and handsome" "in mind" and Adrian looked quite offended.
In a heated moment when the couple were alone together Thomas told Adrian he looked like "H from Steps". He said: "Listen to me, I was not expecting H from Steps" and after a very awkward pause Adrian thankfully found the comment funny.
After their chat, the pair agreed to give their marriage a go and despite already facing some hurdles stepped out to face their rocky future together. Thomas has since posted a statement to Twitter while the show was airing. He said: "All my comments are light hearted and to make people laugh, if you don't like that, that's on you loves. #MAFSUK"
This comes after some Married At First Sight fans took to Twitter to say how rude they think Thomas was being. One said: "Tbf (to be fair) Thomas saying he was expecting tall dark &handsome to Adrian’s face basically implying he’s not handsome is not nice."
Another added: "How can Thomas think its OK to say he wanted talk dark and handsome...He's hardly a catch, potty mouth!" Thomas is so rude lol there's many things his husband could say about him but he didn't. He's not exactly perfection in human form himself."
In the new series of Married At First Sight another wedding and match did not go to plan for Whitney and Duka. Coming across as very rude at the wedding Whitney ruined their vows, forgot Duka's name, and refused to kiss him.
