The Lost Wild, a dinosaur survival game by Great Ape Games and Annapurna Interactive, dropped a new trailer at Sony’s State of Play this June.
The game was first announced all the way back in 2022 and went mostly radio silent afterwards despite a tenative release window in 2024. Now, the game has received an exciting new update which could mean, at the very least, release date news is imminent. Though not much else has been revealed about the game thus far, it’s great to get an official update confirming that the game is making progress.
The Lost Wild’s new trailer
The Lost Wild’s new trailer runs just short of a minute and a half, but it packs almost every second with menacing shots of dinosaurs throughout a ruined facility, giving players another chance to live out their Jurassic Park fantasies (or nightmares).
The main focus of The Lost Wild will be survival where the player is no longer at the top of the food chain. Trapped on a lush island, players must keep hidden and outsmart the various prehistoric predators that stalk the island with fire and weapons, though not for long. The only thing guiding you will be a mysterious voice over the radio as you try to find a way to survive and hopefully escape.
The Lost Wild’s Story
Not much has been revealed about the story of The Lost Wild yet, though this new trailer did feature a young child and father discussing their favorite dinosaurs before a car accident, which could be a flashback to the main character’s past.
The final few shots do reveal a young woman on the island, as she heads towards a giant structure. What that means is still a mystery, though hopefully more news will come soon.
