Michael Penix Jr. has one of the more fascinating cases when it comes to his 2024 NFL Draft resume.
Despite a pair of ACL tears, his ceiling could be really high after what we saw the quarterback do at Washington this season. In our latest mock draft from our Christian D’Andrea, he has Penix going to the Pittsburgh Steelers at pick No. 23 in the first round. And in the latest mock from The Athletic, Diante Lee has Penix at No. 13 to the Las Vegas Raiders, which makes a lot of sense given their QB situation.
Here’s what Lee wrote about that pick:
I have reservations about Penix’s ceiling, but there’s no reason he can’t operate at a level similar to Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Brock Purdy or Goff. Getting dependable QB production at a low price is how the Raiders can fill their roster with the depth necessary to compete in the AFC West.
