The Last Voyage of the Demeter, a film that took inspiration from Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula, had its highly anticipated theatrical release in 2023. Unfortunately, the movie fell short of expectations, becoming one of the year's biggest box office disappointments. However, fans of the horror genre can now look forward to its official streaming release on February 11, 2024, on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Based on the chapter 'The Captain's Log' from Stoker's iconic book, The Last Voyage of the Demeter tells the chilling story of a ship carrying Dracula from Transylvania to London. Directed by André Øvredal, known for his work on Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, this movie aimed to bring back the horror sensibilities of the classic Hammer films and reintroduce Dracula as a terrifying, bloodthirsty villain.
