The 'intriguing' Michael Beale Celtic Rangers selection dilemma as he's fired warning over key decision

Michael Beale has something of a selection dilemma on his hands and it will be 'intriguing' to see what the Rangers boss chooses.

That is the view of former Ibrox hitman Kenny Miller who says the question of Antonio Colak vs Alfredo Morelos will be crucial heading in to Saturday's derby with Celtic. Both forwards have impressed to varying degrees this season with the Croatian the de facto number one choice under previous boss Gio Van Bronckhorst. Colak then missed a chunk of the second half of the campaign.

Step forward Morelos who, despite seeming to be plotting his Rangers exit in the summer, has been utilised heavily under Beale. The Colombian has not hit the heights he previously managed and goes in to the Old Firm lacking match readiness. The 26-year-old has a history of being a live wire in this fixture but Miller insists when both are fully fit, he would still go with Morelos.

The pundit does ponder, however, if the forward 'wants to show it'. He told Go Radio: "Morelos has still got it but it's about if he wants to show it.

"That's the choice he can make, but if you're talking about a fit Alfredo Morelos who is fully firing and Antonio Colak, I probably think for all other aspects of the game, I think Morelos has more pressing ability when fit and at it, more physical, he's more mobile, there's no doubt about it.

"But at the moment looks like Colak is maybe working harder. So it's a question out there but I just think what is going with Alfredo.

"Where he is going to be playing his football next year? He came to the club as a 20-year-old and it's something that has been constantly thrown at him, a lot of pressure on him, a lot of interest in him.

"Now he hasn't been performing at the best of his ability and Colak comes in. He found himself on the bench and he is not a good sub and I think everybody can see that, so it will be a really intriguing to see Michael's team selection.

"If you get the right people about him and some control in the game, you might get more out of Alfredo or Colak. It's about what else can they bring to the game, who has more energy to put them under pressure.

"I think a fully fit Alfredo can do it better because he can do it quicker."
