Fans of The Grand Tour have shared their disappointment that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are parking the series after seven years.
The popular motoring show, which launched on Prime Video in 2016, quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest hits.
The series sees them travel to far-flung places to complete automobile-related challenges similar to those they did in the Top Gear specials.
However, The Standard has learned that Jeremy, 63, James, 60, and Richard, 52, will bid adieu to the show next year.
The trio, who recently returned from filming in Zimbabwe, will return with the third series and a special set in Mauritania to air next year.
Despite the trio’s departure, the series will not necessarily end with show bosses considering continuing the series further down the line with new hosts.
A TV insider also told The Sun: “It’s a surprising decision and everyone realises it very much marks the end of an era for the three presenters.
“The Grand Tour is one of Prime Video’s most watched shows and Jeremy, James and Richard have a devoted following.”
In light of the news, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their dismay over the trio’s exit.
One fan commented: “What the f*** that and Clarkson’s Farm were the only f***ing decent things to watch on Prime.”
“I’m gutted these three will never be replicated,” another shared. A third added: “Thanks for the memories over the years.”
A fan penned: “So I’m only just finding out The Grand Tour is coming to an end, man that was an awesome show!”
“Grand Tour trio really calling it quits after the next special… end of an era,” another wrote.
However, there are still two more instalments of The Grand Tour to drop on Prime Video. Both will go out next year and see them travel to Mauritania and Zimbabwe.
