Many schools across Wales have been forced to close today as snow hits parts of the country. There is a yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for the majority of Wales, which will be in place until Thursday afternoon.
As a result, several schools have decided to close their doors. For Thursday, it is set to be a mostly dry day with sunny spells but will become frosty in the evening. A few wintry showers are still likely, but mainly in northern and western coastal areas, with winds becoming generally light and maximum temperature at 6 °C.
In the evening, the Met Office forecasts that any remaining coastal wintry showers will die away, leaving a dry night with clear periods. It will turn very cold, with a widespread frost and icy patches and a minimum temperature of -6 °C.
