The Expanse gameplay footage is as nail-biting as the TV Show

Telltale Games has been tight-lipped about The Expanse: A Telltale Series for well over a year since its initial reveal, but the studio released an in-depth gameplay trailer on Monday that goes into considerable detail regarding what fans can expect.

In the video, Stephan Frost, game director at Deck Nine, and Zak Garriss, VP of Story development at Telltale Games, provide commentary on a scenario in The Expanse: A Telltale Series (Thanks, PC Gamer). Specifically, a section where protagonist Camina Drummer explores a derelict spacecraft – mag-booting through it, naturally. Eventually, Drummer runs into a crewmate that’s got their leg pinned by supplies. You can make two choices: jettison the materials into space or cut off your buddy’s leg.

In typical Telltale Games fashion, it’s not an easy choice – especially since these decisions carry a lot of weight.

“This [choice] will carry through the entirety of [The Expanse: A Telltale Series],” Frost explains. “This will affect the ending – so these choices are very important. And they not only affect this character, but affects the plot, and the story going forward. The Expanse is all about grey. And, you know, a situation like this, there’s an upside and there’s a downside to both decisions.”

As of right now, The Expanse: A Telltale Series doesn’t have a release date, and neither does Wolf Among Us 2 – another project from TellTale Games.
