The evil penguin from Wallace & Gromit is back in an all-new Netflix movie

Feathers McGraw is back.

In one of the most exciting and sincerely shocking bits of film news we’ve gotten in ages, the evil penguin thief with the rubber glove disguise from the 1993 Wallace and Gromit Osar-winning short film The Wrong Trousers is making his grand comeback in the upcoming animated film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.

It’s been 31 years since Feather McGraw tried to use a robotic pair of pants to get Wallace to steal a rare diamond, but it looks like he’ll be back in the second feature-length film to star Aardman Animations’ signature pair.

Netflix unveiled an exclusive first look at the film on Thursday, which should hit the streaming service later this year. Aardman teased Feathers’ highly unexpected return with this very funny teaser trailer.

Per Netflix, the new film will follow Gromit grappling with a very 2020s version of Wallace and his inventions.

Gromit’s concern that Wallace has become over-dependant on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own…As events spiral out of control, it falls to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces – or Wallace may never be able to invent again!

It’s Aardman’s first feature-length film for the characters since 2005’s Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and the first project to feature the duo since 2008’s Oscar-nominated short film A Matter of Loaf and Death.

If you need any refreshing about who Feathers McGraw is and what he’s capable of, you can revisit the iconic train chase from The Wrong Trousers and reacquaint yourself with one of the greatest (and most dastardly) characters in animation history.

Seriously, this is just amazing. Who in the world thought Aardman would ever bring back Feathers McGraw? Not us.
