The Chase's Bradley Walsh was baffled as a Scouse contestant revealed his favourite football team.

The 62-year-old presenter welcomed four new players on today's edition of the popular ITV game show. Christine Jonathan, Sonali and Colin were testing their wits against Jenny Ryan in a bid to win a cash prize.

Christine started the show in great form as she built up £7,000 before navigating her way past The Vixen. Jonathan was up next and the 25-year-old hailed from Liverpool.

The senior data analyst worked for the NHS and was hoping to win some money to complete his pilot's licence and upgrade some new equipment to do bigger charity challenges as part of his fundraising activities for mental health causes.

Jonathan put in an impressive performance as he earned £3,000 before taking on The Chaser. However, he was eliminated after a tense head-to-head with The Vixen.

Bradley quizzed the player on who is his favourite football team was before Jonathan left the studio. However, the presenter was confused when the player didn't support one of the city's two Premier League sides.

He said: "Eintracht Frankfurt." Bradley was baffled to here the Bundesliga team as he shot back: "Wow, that's nicely on the fence. People normally say Tranmere Rovers."

Jenny was similarly confused as she shrugged her shoulders. The Chaser added: "That was not the answer I expected."

The Vixen was in imperious form as she knocked out the remaining contestants. Christine built up 14 steps in the Final Chase, but was caught with 53 seconds remaining.
