The Chase contestant claims Sinnerman's top offer of £36k 'is not high enough'

Bradley Walsh was stunned as one contestant on ITV's quiz show The Chase dubbed the Chaser's top prize offer as "not high enough".

After a successful cash builder where he earned a very impressive £9,000, 24-year-old Michael was facing the Sinnerman at the table. He was offered a choice between a lower offer of £3,000, the £9,000 that he brought from the first round, and a whopping £36,000.

Michael was encouraged by his teammates Giles )who had already added £4,000 to the prize pot) Jo and Rasheel to take the £36,000 if he felt confident enough. But after considering the options, the logistics manager, who makes podcasts about competitive reality TV in his spare time, declared the offer wasn't high enough.

"I'm going to stick with my £9,000 because I don't think £36,000 is high enough," he laughed as host Bradley Walsh scoffed. When asked what figure he had in his head, Michael confessed he would have gone for the higher offer if it was above £50,000.

Fighting from his seat at the top of the table, the Sinnerman said: "You know, for someone who watches TV shows obsessively, I don't think you've seen enough of these shows. You're not getting 50."

Fans on Twitter were encouraging following the impressive cash builder. @Andi000211 said: "Excellent player. Waiting for Brad to say he's clever for a young'un. #TheChase", while @hpchlo said: "Check out the big brain on Michael #TheChase"

But after dismissing the impressive high offer, some were quick to call Michael out. @pattyboy71 said: "36K... not enough?? Please!!!! #TheChase." @AnthonyJamesRa2: "36 not enough? Yeah good player but no #TheChase."

After taking his £9,000 cash builder pot, Michael crashed out in the multiple-choice round. Speaking on Twitter as the episode aired, Michael confirmed that he stood by his statement.

Taking to Twitter he said: "Absolutely no regrets. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat." However, he later said he wished he had been more respectful about the offer.

Later, as the only contestant to make it through to the final round, Giles put up an impressive fight against the Sinnerman in the final round but was caught with more than a minute remaining on the clock.
