The Chase contestant calls out the Vixen as being 'the easiest to beat'

The Chase viewers were left to argue among themselves after one contestant made a bold claim regarding the easiest chaser to face. Liz, originally from New Zealand, suggested the unwanted honour belongs to the Vixen, otherwise known as Jenny Ryan.

After being asked by Bradley Walsh who she wished to play, Liz began by naming Shaun Wallace, due to being a barrister. But she added: “Or alternatively the Vixen because I think she’ll be the easiest to beat.”

But despite her fighting talk, it was neither the Vixen or the Dark Destroyer, Shaun's alias, who walked out to face the 43-year-old. Instead, she got to face off against Paul Sinha, the Sinnerman.

Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to either agree or argue otherwise about the easiest chaser to face. @Mysteron_Voice said: “That's a *very* bold suggesting that *any* of The Chasers are easy to beat…”

@emmarosedolan added: “Did Liz just say my beloved Vixen would be the easiest to beat?? #TheChase #clutchespearls.”

@Andi000211 disagreed with her suggestion. He said: “Jenny the easiest to beat! Complete nonsense #thechase.”

@SarahGoddel112 argued in favour of the Vixen. She said: “No way is the Vixen the easiest, the Dark Destroyer and Governess are far easier.” @EmperorMendoza questioned: “Really? I thought that was Shaun.”

Liz is a compliance officer and hoped to spend the money on visiting Everest Base Camp. However, despite being one step away from the price with the chaser three steps behind, the Sinnerman caught up with Liz, eliminating her from the day's show. She had previously banked £6,000 in the cash builder round.

The deciding question saw the opening contestant incorrectly guess that 40 years separated the coronation of Kings George III and George IV, with Sinha correctly plumping for 60.

The Chase airs weekly at 5pm on ITV.
