It was a Fourth of July celebration to remember in The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 4, 2024.
The Fourth of July episode begins at Forrester Creations, where Hope (Annika Noelle) and Paris (Diamond White) continue to argue over Paris’ engagement with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Paris is upset that her former friend made a play for her fiance. Hope tries to say that Thomas was in love with her and they share a child. That’s why she can’t believe he moved on so fast. She’s concerned for her, and for Thomas.
Eric (John McCook) is hosting a Fourth of July party, where Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) congratulates Thomas on his engagement to Paris. Eric looks at Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and says he understands how wonderful it is to be with the one you love. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) arrive and the party is ready to begin.
Meanwhile, back at the office, Katie (Heather Tom) and Bill (Don Diamont) talk about their emotional conversation. She can’t stop thinking about Bill having a daughter. When he asks about Poppy (Romy Park), she admits she gets a “bad vibe” about her.
Poppy is home at the mansion looking at photos when Luna (Lisa Yamada) and RJ (Joshua Hoffman) walk in. They ask if she wants to go to Eric’s house, but she’s going to wait for Bill, who is with Katie. Luna asks if her mother is concerned about Bill being with Katie. She urges her mother to not worry about Bill being with Katie. They share a lot, after all. She tells Poppy not to worry.
Thomas is upset that Steffy, Finn and the kids aren’t there. Ridge says they’re spending time together, and Ridge asks where Thomas’ fiance is. He gets his phone out to contact her.
Paris wants to know what Hope means when she says that Thomas will one day leave. Hope tells her that Thomas is “very much a one woman man,” implying that she’s his “one woman.”
RJ asks Luna if she has anything, but she’s looking back at her mother. RJ tells her that she can always come over if she changes her mind. Poppy insists that she’s good. She looks at her watch. “Why aren’t you home, Bill?” she wonders.
Bill says that he was so certain that he was destined to be with Katie, reuniting their family.
Thomas greets RJ and Luna when they arrive. RJ says Thomas left some big shoes to fill. They offer their congratulations to him and ask where Paris is.
Paris says that her relationship with Thomas is built on honesty, and Hope knows nothing about her relationship with him, or Douglas. She knows it stings to see Douglas embracing her the way he has. Paris is sensitive to how Hope must feel about that, but her relationship with Thomas is real. Paris says Thomas left Hope in the past, so it’s time for Hope to move on. Paris doesn’t want any drama, and she knows what Hope must be feeling. Hope doubts that. Paris points out that Hope didn’t want to get married so Thomas moved on. Hope is not the “one woman” anymore. Paris is.
Katie knows Bill has a lot of guilt about how things ended with her, but she has always seen the man he is. Strong, caring. He can always make someone feel like they’re the only person in the room. She teases him when he says he thought he was “bull-headed.” He’d like to think he’s grown up a bit. He owes it all to her. “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” he tells her. “You’re the love of my life, Katie.” He says she was right to move on with her life, just as he’s finally moved into his “next chapter.” She wants to hear him say it again. He slips his hand into hers and says, “You’re the love of my life. You’re my Katie.”
When Paris finally arrives at the Forrester mansion, everyone greets her as the “woman of the hour.” Carter admires her ring. He’s glad she’s found happiness with Thomas. Thomas brings her a drink and asks where she was. She says there were a few “loose ends” she needed to “tie up.” They share a kiss as Hope arrives.
Bill tells Katie that he will always love her. She knows he’s moving on with Luna and Poppy, and he says he’s happy. But he’ll always hold what they shared in his heart. They’ve had so many wonderful memories. We get a little flashback of them in happier times. “We had an incredible life, family,” Bill says. He admits he wonders what could have been if he hadn’t “screwed things up.” He asks what’s happening with her and Carter. She admits they’re better off as friends and she can’t see herself moving on with anyone right now. She wishes he would think about what he says before he says it, because it hurts when he says she’s the love of his life when he doesn’t mean it. He insists that he means it. They share an embrace just as Poppy walks in and sees them together.
Thomas sees Hope across the room as Brooke watches them. She asks her daughter if she’s ok with Thomas being there. Eric wants to address the crowd to thank them for coming to the party. Ridge offers a toast to his son and his new fiance. Thomas says that he knows it was a surprise for everyone when he came home. He left LA and never expected to fall in love, but he did. Paris means the world to him and he loves her. Thomas turns to Eric and talks about how he and their grandmother built a house full of love, so they’d like to get married there. Eric looks around and says they’re about to have another wedding as Hope walks away. When she turns back, she sees them kissing and she almost comes undone.
