The Venn diagram of reality shows The Block and Married At First Sight are getting dangerously close to forming a circle after the latest heartthrob on the renovation series allegedly dumped his partner to hook up with a makeup artist he met during filming. Ouchie mama!!!
The ex-girlfriend of Ricky Recard — who is currently on The Block with his mate Haydyn Wise — claims the 34-year-old dumped her the night before they were set to go on a trip to Mexico for her birthday. Shortly after, he allegedly revealed that he was dating makeup artist and mother-of-two Erin Lee.
“I was absolutely blindsided,” Recard’s ex-girlfriend Lauren Smith told the Daily Mail.
“I spent three months looking after his dogs and his house while also helping his employee with the business. We were due to go at the beginning of July for my 30th birthday but we broke up about two weeks after he got back from filming.
“I found out while I was in Mexico that he had apparently begun a relationship with Erin during the time I was away,” she alleged.
However, I would encourage you to take these claims with a grain of salt because Erin’s ex-husband Lucas Day told the Daily Mail that they had separated before Lee began dating Recard — and his timeline doesn’t exactly add up to Lauren’s.
“We are separated now and I’ve dealt with it,” Day told the Daily Mail.
“They got together after we split when he got back from Mexico in July and we were done then.”
Although the 34-year-old plumber has his Instagram on private, Lee hard launched their relationship with a cute snap of them enjoying a day out at the beach on Instagram.
“Sometimes the path we never planned leads us to brighter things and the happiness we always needed. Trust the journey 😊✨,” she captioned the post.
Regardless of how the couple ended up together, they seem very loved up — bad news for the fans lusting after this season’s designated heartthrob.
