The best value European holiday destinations for families – revealed

• The Post Office 's annual Family Holiday Costs Barometer has named Portugal's Algarve as one of Europe's best value destination for families.
• The report compared the cost of ten common tourist items, including family meals, drinks, and suncream, across various destinations, excluding flights and accommodation.
• The Algarve topped the list with the ten items costing a total of £140, with a cup of coffee priced at £1.27 and a two-course adult lunch around £20.97.
• Bulgaria 's Sunny Beach ranked second at £142, followed by Spain's Costa Teguise (£147), Menorca (£151), and Costa Brava (£155) among the top five cheapest destinations.
• Sorrento, Italy, was identified as the most expensive destination surveyed, with the barometer basket costing £268, almost double the price of the Algarve.
