We've picked out some of our favourite parks from around Scotland that are ideal for a pincic or wander on those hotter days.
Queen's Park, Glasgow
With plenty of parts to this exciting park including a play park and boating pond, the real gem in its crown is found with a short walk to the flagpole where you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the city itself stretching all the way to Dumgoyne and Ben Lomond on a clear day.
Crombie Park, Angus
This country park in Angus is a local favourite and a wonderful place to spot wildlife such as red squirrels and even woodpeckers.
Walks, trails and even a mini-cycle track await.
Calton Hill, Edinburgh
The panoramic views from Calton Hill have to be seen to be believed and on a warm day it's one of the best places in the capital to be. It's here you'll find the National Monument, inspired by the Parthenon in Athens.
Duthie Park, Aberdeen
This Victorian-era park was gifted to the city by philanthropist Elizabeth Crombie Duthie for the "well being and recreation" of the city's inhabitants and it's been much cherished by residents ever since.
It's here you will also find the David Welch Winter Gardens, one of Europe's largest indoor gardens.
Almondell & Calderwood Country Park, Livingston
Riverside walks are the order of the day in this picturesque country park which your dog will love with plenty of space and trails to explore.
Keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife such as roe deer and even otters.
Puck's Glen, Argyll
Magical and as fantastical as the character that gives the site its name, Puck's Glen is a wonderful way to while away an afternoon, with its walks spiriting you away to a world of greenery and tumbling waterfalls.
Whin Park, Inverness
Head here with the family for a great day out, as the was designed with kids in mind, you'll find everything from a huge adventure play area to a miniature railway and even a boating pond - with actual paddle boats.
