Glasgow is home to many wonderful parks that give fantastic walking and exercising opportunities, from Kelvingrove to Bellahouston Park there is a lovely green space close to you.
With the weather improving rapidly many Glasweigens will be wanting to make use of 20 degrees plus temperatures that we are experiencing at the moment.
However, what if you wanted to go all out and have a not-too-far-away car trip to a nice park outside of the city? Well, wonder no more with four parks that we have handpicked that are 'driving distance' from Glasgow.

There are many wonderful estates that are not far from Scotland's biggest city that on a lovely day feel like you have been transported to another universe.
Fortunately, if you are not into walking and getting all hot and bothered on hot days there are many parks that do offer countless activities such as mini-golf, sunbathing and picnicking.

First on our list is Polkemmet Country Park, Whitburn is only a 30-minute drive from Glasgow.
Activities include wildlife spotting, walking, picnicking and golfing.
While Beecraigs Country Park, West Lothian is almost an hour from Glasgow with a 50-minute drive ahead of you.
Home to red deer and Highland cattle, this country park is also popular with cyclists thanks to its mountain bike trails. It also has a visitor centre with farm shop, picnic benches and BBQ hire, plus a large adventure play area.
If you are wanting to head a little further, however, Vogrie Country Park, Midlothian is just over an hour from the city with a 70-minute drive.
This popular Midlothian park has four miles of beautiful woodland walk and an adventure play area. And if you’re hungry, there’s a family-friendly cafe for you to enjoy.
Last but not least on our list is Craigtoun Country Park in Fife, St Andrews. If you are really wanting to go out of your way to escape the city it will be a 90-minute journey from Glasgow.
A real favourite with families, this park is perfect when the sun is shining. Row around the boating lake, take a ride on the miniature railway or even play crazy golf, you won’t be short of things to do.
