The height of summer is on the horizon - and what better way to make the most of the long days and warmer weather than by cooking up some smoky treats on your BBQ?
With major supermarkets bringing out summer ranges to cater to our nation of BBQ lovers, shoppers are left spoiled for choice when it comes to the classic favourites like steaks, burgers and kebabs. We’ve taken a look at the BBQ offerings from the major supermarkets to round up some of the tastiest highlights and give you some inspiration for your next garden barbie.
Tesco’s Fire Pit collection has some mouth-watering meaty additions for your barbeque, including chicken and chorizo kebabs, smoky chicken drumsticks, sweet chilli chicken thighs, Buffalo-style chicken wings and chicken tikka steaks. They also offer the likes of maple pork loin steaks, salt and chilli pork belly slices, minted lamb kebabs and vintage cheddar beef burgers.

Asda has a selection of delicious treats in their website’s BBQ Essentials collection, which ranges from ‘Balti-style’ lamb kebabs and ‘Kansas-style’ pork kebabs to ‘Gunpowder’ aromatic turkey koftas and Iberico cheese and chorizo sausage whirls. There’s also the likes of mango and coconut chicken breast mini fillets for some tangy summer flavours, or beef burgers topped with melting Monterey Jack cheese and chilli for an indulgent touch.
Over at Sainsbury’s their Summer Edition range is full of new products that will have you covered for your outdoor dining plans, including a range of kebab offerings from sweet chilli beef to garlic and herb chicken. The supermarket also stocks a delicious burger selection featuring classics like bacon-topped or chorizo-infused beef, as well as more unusual offerings like habanero and Red Leicester turkey patties.
Morrisons shoppers planning a BBQ should check out the Global Grill section where there are some great alternatives to spice up your standard grill, with highlights including honey chilli and garlic pork belly slices and Thai-style Tamarind and lime pork loin steaks. The Global Grill also features the likes of Korean or Mexican-style koftas and chicken tikka kebabs for some lighter barbeque bites.
M&S can always be relied upon to dial up the luxury and their summer BBQ range this year is no exception, featuring “the ultimate sharing centrepiece” in a bacon and cheese pork sausage swirl glazed in sweet and smoky barbeque sauce, as well as chorizo and Manchego burgers and halloumi quarter-pounders. The selection also includes brand new katsu burgers made of spiced chicken, coconut cream and spring onions - and they’ve made sure vegans are catered for too, with plant-based burgers, hot dogs and kebabs in their Plant Kitchen range.
