Ally McCoist has detailed the questions he would put to Alfredo Morelos before offering him a new contract at Rangers.
The Colombian hitman is out of contract in the summer with Michael Beale revealing talks are yet to take place with any players in the final months of deals over fresh terms. Reports linked Sevilla in La Liga with a pre-contract swoop with the striker putting an end to those rumours. His fitness and attitude have been questioned this season with his game-time much less at the start of the campaign due to the red hot form of Antonio Colak.
An injury to the Croat allowed Morelos back in under Beale for a run of games and an upturn in his performances. However, Colak is back to full fitness and started the last few outings for the Light Blues including two goals against Hibs at Easter Road. The Ibrox gaffer has admitted he wants to see more from Morelos and McCoist has listed SIX questions he would be asking the striker in an honest sit-down.

Speaking on Scottish Football Extra, the Ibrox hero said: "I would need to sit him down and have a serious chat with him. I'd need to find out where his head is, where he wants to be, where he thinks he can be, what he wants to achieve. How does he feels he's done and what he thinks he can do.
"A very fit Alfredo Morelos is the best centre-forward Rangers have got."
When it was pointed out that the hitman is not 'very fit' he added: "Exactly! So sit him down and ask him! You need to tell him [to get fit]."
Celtic hero Chris Sutton and McCoist then agreed as things stand Morelos does not deserve an extended stay with the former Ibrox gaffer simply replying 'no' before Sutton added: "No, I agree with Ally."
