The Lexus LX trundles into the new model year with minor changes and surprisingly modest price increases. The Premium, Overtrail, and F Sport Handling models receive the most attention while the Luxury and Ultra Luxury models remain completely stacked with standard features.
First introduced for 2022, the fourth-generation Lexus LX remains our closest link to the full-size 300-series Land Cruiser. As such, it hides surprising off-road capability beneath its spindle-faced skin.

Subtle Updates, Inside and Out
Premium-grade rigs receive darker 20-inch wheels and a digital rearview mirror. The F Sport gains red brake calipers, front and rear. You can also now spec the Palomino interior color option. And both the F Sport and Overtrail feature one-touch auto-arrange power-folding rear seats are standard kit.
That last bit is available as an optional extra on the Premium trim, as part of the Interior Upgrade package. Nothing's ever available on its own, is it? I understand why, but it's still annoying.
Regardless, the subtle styling and tech updates are accompanied by relatively minor price increases.

What does the Ultra Luxury trim have to justify that starting price? You're looking at a rolling luxury spa, as Lexus turns the LX into a four-seat palace on wheels. The seats add soft urethane dampers to smooth out the ride. There's a rear control panel to adjust the audio, climate, and lighting. And rear seat displays can keep you entertained as you're shuttled to your destination.
But the best trim in the lineup remains the 700h Overtrail. This is a fancy full-size Land Cruiser after all. Well, it's 90 percent of the way there. And the Overtrail looks and handles the part surprisingly well.
You get 33-inch tires, multi-terrain select and monitoring, crawl control with turn assist, and 457 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque at your beck and call. Even better are the standard front and rear lockers, which let you conquer all manner of terrain... assuming you don't scrape the nose of this thing on tougher obstacles.
Motor1's Take: The Lexus LX remains a proper flagship SUV, and these subtle styling tweaks simply expand the appeal. The truck sure isn't cheap, but it's a capable machine both off-road and for impressing your friends and neighbors when you pull up at the local Whole Foods.
