The 1975 have been announced as last-minute headliners for Reading and Leeds festival later this month, as Rage Against The Machine pulled out following “medical guidance.”
The Manchester band, known for hits including Chocolate and Girls, will headline the festival on Friday, August 26 at the Reading site, and Saturday, August 27 at Leeds. Frontman Matt Healy took to Instagram on Friday to announce the news, where he acknowledged some music fans will be disappointed with the line-up change.
On an Instagram story, he said: “There will be some guys and girls my age who are like ‘that’s not a replacement for Rage Against The Machine’ – and it isn’t. Who can replace Rage Against The Machine?
