Over the years endless child actors have slipped into drug and alcohol use, the sad truth is it is often seen as a cliché that those who find fame at a young age will end up struggling with addiction.
More and more stars have opened up about their sobriety, including That's So Raven star Anneliese van der Pol who played Raven's best friend Chelsea on the smash hit show.
In an honest conversation with fellow child star Christy Carlson Romano on her podcast Vulnerable, Anneliese gave her take on how working in that industry from an early age impacted her life and asked Disney to "take responsibility".

That's So Raven ran from 2003 to 2007, winning Emmys and earning itself a sequel, Raven's Home, starting in 2017, which saw both Anneliese and Raven Symone return.
The 38-year-old said: "People ask all the time, people do that, they're like 'ah how is it working for Disney?', I was like what do you think they did to us? You know?
"I will say I am waiting for them to take some sort of responsibility or at least address it and talk about really what happens to child actors."
Anneliese began acting on stage in her late teens before being cast as Chelsea around 17-years-old and is now sober, which she told Christy later on the podcast.
The Disney alum called herself a "child star cliché" and mentioned that sobriety is as "theme" of Christy's podcast as many guests have said the same.
"You do just think you're an adult when you're not. You're working, a lot of the times you're working for your whole family and supporting your whole family." she continued.
"You're making all of that money, you're on TV, you're making everybody laugh, everyone's telling you you're great, all these guys are into you. You hit 18, you think you're fabulous.
"The second the TV show ends and you realise you're just a normal person, is an incredibly depressing - it's a huge dump."
She added: "When you're on this huge high and you come down, its a recipe for disaster and that's why you turn to drugs and alcohol. That's why we all did it."
Comments were incredibly supportive for the Raven's Home star, saying they were "so proud" for the pair speaking on the topic and "commend" them for addressing it with care.
