A Texas teenager, Adiah Roberson, 17, has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Sonic manager Daniel Shrewsbury, 33, following an argument over counterfeit money. The tragic incident occurred on July 7 at a Sonic drive-in in San Antonio, Texas.
According to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Roberson was apprehended at an apartment complex in Dallas after being on the run for over three months. The victim, Shrewsbury, was found shot in the chest and unresponsive at the scene, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Allegedly, the altercation began when Roberson attempted to use counterfeit money to pay for food at Sonic and also stole money from an employee. Shrewsbury intervened by trying to take a photo of the suspect's vehicle license plate, prompting Joshua Joseph, who was accompanying Roberson, to threaten and ultimately shoot Shrewsbury.
Joseph, 27, was arrested in August and charged with murder in connection to the incident. Roberson, who was previously on the Texas 'Top 10' Most Wanted Fugitive list, now faces charges of murder and forgery. She has been booked into the Dallas County jail with a bond set at $520,000 and will be transferred to a jail in San Antonio.
Authorities credit a tip received through Texas Crime Stoppers for leading to Roberson's arrest, and they are evaluating if the tip qualifies for the $5,000 cash reward offered for information on her whereabouts. Shrewsbury, remembered as a beloved figure known for his humor and dedication to Sonic, has left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
