Texas man arrested after allegedly shooting woman in road-rage incident during morning commute, then drove 30 miles to work as if nothing happened

A morning commute in Texas turned deadly when an escalating road rage encounter resulted in the fatal shooting of a local school employee. Patrick Lawrence, 37, was arrested by Fort Worth police and charged with murder following the Aug. 13 incident along Interstate 20. What has drawn sharp attention to the case, however, is the suspect’s behavior immediately following the gunfire.

According to Guessing Headlights, Lawrence simply exited the highway and drove straight to his workplace. The victim, LaTaivia Davis, worked as a beloved teacher’s aide at E. Ray Elementary School within the Everman Independent School District. Witnesses said the shooting took place shortly before 6:40 a.m. near Granbury Road. All they really saw was a man in a blue vehicle roll down his window, shoot a woman in a red sedan and immediately speed away.
