The governor criticized President Joe Biden for not fulfilling his duty to deny illegal entry into the country and for failing to detain those who do cross the border, as required by federal law. He argued that Biden's actions are in violation of existing laws, such as Title VIII, USC, 1324, which prohibits alien smuggling, transportation, and harboring of illegal immigrants. Abbott asserted that if he were to engage in the same activities as Biden, he would be facing legal consequences.
