The Houston Texans liked what they saw from Taylor Stallworth in one game in 2022, and have decided to give him a shot throughout the team’s offseason workouts.
The Texans announced Monday they have re-signed the former New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, and Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman.
Stallworth played for Houston in the Week 14 encounter against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The Texans lost 27-23, but Stallworth generated four combined tackles and a tackle for loss during his 20 defensive snaps.
Former coach Lovie Smith was pleased with the performance Stallworth showed against Dallas.
“He had two days, really one day of practice,” Smith said on Dec. 16, the day after the game. “It was finals week. We crammed as far as getting as much of the playbook in. Again, I thought he did a good job picking up stuff mentally and the way he played also.”
Houston placed Stallworth on injured reserve on Dec. 17 with a calf injury.
