The Miami Dolphins have been eliminated from the postseason following their 27-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Saturday night.
So, while Dolphins fans prepare for the offseason, there are a number of former Dolphins who are still playing for a Super Bowl championship that they can support.
This Saturday, the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens are set to battle in a divisional-round matchup, and there are seven former Dolphins on their rosters and practice squads.
Here’s a look at which players who once donned the aqua and orange will play in this one:
Texans OT Laremy Tunsil
Tunsil was selected by the Dolphins with the 13th overall pick in 2016. He played and started in 44 games over the first three years of his career before he was traded to Houston. It was that trade to led to Miami’s roster being loaded with star talent.
Texans OL Michael Deiter
Deiter was a third-round pick of the Dolphins in 2019, originally playing guard and then moving to center during his time with the team. He appeared in 57 games for Miami, starting 23 in his four seasons before signing with Houston this past offseason.
Texans LB Neville Hewitt
Hewitt was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Marshall back in 2015. He spent the first three years of his career in Miami, recording 104 tackles (seven for a loss), four passes defended, one sack, one interception and one fumble recovery in 38 games before signing with the New York Jets in 2018.
Texans TE Eric Saubert
Saubert signed with the Dolphins as a free agent this past offseason. An injury during the preseason landed him on injured reserve before he was released. He never played a regular-season game in Miami.
Texans CB Ka'dar Hollman
Hollman signed to the Dolphins practice squad in 2022, but he never played a game for the team.
Texans DB D'Angelo Ross
Ross spent the 2022 offseason and preseason with Miami after signing a future contract the year before. He was placed on injured reserve and released prior to the start of the regular season.
LB Kyle Van Noy
Van Noy signed a four-year deal to join the Dolphins in 2020, reuniting with his former coach Brian Flores in South Florida. In 2020, he played in 14 games for Miami, recording 69 tackles (10 for a loss), six sacks, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He was cut after just one year before rejoining the New England Patriots in 2021.
