Texans introductory press conference for Lovie Smith as coach: The complete transcript

Lovie Smith Texans Houston Houston Texans

The Houston Texans introduced Lovie Smith as their fifth full-time coach in team history.

Smith, 63, takes over the Texans after he spent the 2021 season as the defensive coordinator and associate head coach under David Culley, who went 4-13 in his lone season in Houston.

The Big Sandy High School product expressed gratitude of being able to coach one of Texas’ two NFL teams. General manager Nick Caserio also explained why they arrived at Smith as their choice after a month-long process.
