Tesco shoppers get 'nightmares' after spotting nostalgic 90s game

When it comes to our childhood, there are many things that come to mind whether it's a certain place you hung around at or a special meal you had every weekend.

On top of this, there's always a game or piece of technology that brings you right back to your younger days.

And it seems as if one Tesco shopper has found a game that does just that.

Taking to Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK private group, the shopper shared what she had found along with a picture of the iconic game.

Tamagotchi's were a hit in the 90s. (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.)

She wrote: "Not sure if it's a bargain, but I had one of these and loved it! £17 Tesco, please don't tell me I could have got it cheaper" followed by a laughing emoji.

For those unaware and never grew up trying to keep their beloved Tamagotchi alive, the small handheld game is a digital pet and became something that everyone in the late 90s and early 2000s had.

As the life span of the pet grows longer, the Tamagotchi will become much more needy for food and attention, until it eventually passes away.

And quite often you would finish your school day to find that your pet had in fact died.

Taking to the comment section, many people recalled when they owned one - and when their game ended with many pointing out dupes of the nostalgic game are only a few pounds with the real one costing a bit more.

One said: "Loved mine! It got confiscated in a science lesson until the end of the day…….it died. Never forgave my science teacher."

Another added: "This brings back nightmares of the responsibility of looking after my kids Tamagotchi’s when they went out & making sure the damn things didn’t die."

"I’ve brought my 6 year old one for Christmas I think it will be awesome and if they don’t play with it I will being a 90’s baby" wrote a third.
