A creepy Tesco delivery driver asked a customer how old she was before attempting to kiss on her doorstep. The woman says the supermarket chain initially offered 'no sympathy' over the ordeal claiming their driver was a 'friendly old man'.
The anonymous woman says the incident occurred after the delivery driver dropped off her shopping at her Watford home. She alleges the driver knocked on her door after completing the order, reports the Mirror.
Shocking footage then shows the driver, thought to be in his 60's, standing in her doorway before asking the homeowner what age she was. He said: "Please don’t be offended but how old are you?”
The stunned shopper told the man that she was 33, to which he replied "honestly". The driver then leaned in, grabbing the woman's face and attempting to kiss her.
The woman says she turned away to avoid the kiss from the delivery driver. The sickening clip ends with the man apologising whilst closing the door and leaving the property.
The customer says the incident was 'crazy' and completely 'unacceptable', as she alleges the delivery driver tried to take advantage of her during her being foreign. Speaking to the Watford Observer, she said: "It’s crazy for a delivery man to try and kiss me on the lips.
"It’s unacceptable for anyone to do this. I think he could tell I am foreign and of Latin descent and he thought he might get away with it."
The woman's husband then returned back home, and after reviewing the footage together, they decided to report the incident to Tesco. She called up the customer service team at the supermarket chain and said their initial response was not good enough.
The woman said "I had no plan to make this public but Tesco ’s [initial] response was not appropriate. Tesco needs to remind its employees – any delivery driver – of how to treat women who are alone."
Tesco has now apologised to the customer and launched an internal investigation into the incident. It is reported that the delivery driver has been removed from deliveries whilst the investigation is underway.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: "We were really concerned to hear about this and take complaints of this nature extremely seriously. We immediately began an internal investigation and have reached out to the customer to apologise and make her aware of the actions being taken on our side."
