MUMBAI: Hany Babu Tharayil, whose bail plea in the Elgar Parishad case was rejected by the Bombay high court, faces "serious" offences under the anti-terror Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, which bars bail to an accused if the court finds reasonable grounds to believe the accusations are prima facie true. There was no "perversity" in the NIA court order rejecting his bail plea, said the HC.
Tharayil is currently lodged at Taloja Central Prison in Navi Mumbai.
